Gameroom Design Tips
Space - Be sure that your game room has the needed height and play area for larger-sized games. Most rooms do, but it is always a good idea to check first. Consider the room's traffic patterns. For example, you want to put the darts off in a corner furthest from traffic, in a corner where the actual dartboard is as far away as possible from walkways, so no one gets hurt
Move In - Check to be sure that the games you order will have at least 2" clearance on each side for any game that will need to be moved through a door, a stairway or stairwell to get inside your gameroom area.
Electricity - 99% of games and use the standard three-prong 110V household electrical socket. Make sure you have enough sockets and that you use a top quality surge protector on all your games to prevent electrical damage from lightening strikes, brownouts and electrical surges.
Lighting - Consider the effect of lighting. It's natural to want to focus fixtures on a main game, be it a pool table or your weekly poker setup. But don't overlook the other entertainment options. You don't want lighting that produces glare problems for players of other games.
Windows - To preserve the appearance of your games, try not to subject them direct, unfiltered sunlight. The UV rays in direct sunlight can fade your game's cabinet artwork and graphics over time. If game must be placed near a window with direct sun, consider getting a UV window protection tint or use blinds or curtains to block direct sun from shining on your game.
Temperature - It is best to insure that the constant temperature in the area you wish you store or play your games does not normally fall below 50° nor rise above 90° on a consistent basis. Extreme cold or heat over an extended period can be harmful to your games.
